Co-op Funeral Care, UK’s largest funeral care provider let’s organisations apply to a fund which helps setting up projects aimed to help young people in bereavement.

As the largest funeral care provider in the UK, operating over 1,000 funeral homes, the organisation is dedicated to serving families in need. To learn more about how they can be of service last year the group released an extensive report about bereavement in the UK.

The survey reported that 16 to 29-year-olds are the least able to express emotion and most likely keep grieving to themselves, which is proven to be to be harmful in the long term. To help address these young people, Co-Op Funeral Care donated funds to its non profit sector the Co-op Foundation.

One part of the grants will go to to the #iwill Fund. Focusing on preventing social isolation and helping young people to make social actions as part of life for as many 10 to 20-year-olds as possible.

There will be five grants awarded to set-up projects that help bereaved young people from getting into social isolation and to let them know they are not alone. Applicants can submit their applications until Friday the 3rd of April.

The grants by Co-op Funeral Care and the Co-op Foundation are part of a £3 million extension meant to tackle loneliness amongst youth. The extension comes on top of £2 million that has already been invested by the foundation.
