Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum has purchased the family funeral home Gump-Holt Funeral Home.
John and Olga Gump started Gump-Holt Funeral Home in 1930. Their daughter Marilyn and her husband, Larry Holt have been running the home for the past 60 years.
Spring Grove will close the Gump-Holt funeral Home, but will continue to honor and guarantee all of the funeral home’s pre-planned and pre-funded funeral arrangements at its other existing locations and offer complimentary access to Spring Grove events and grief support programs.
The daughter of the late owners said “We are very excited to have our families in the good hands of the Spring Grove family. Both companies have a long history of exceptional service to the Cincinnati community.¨
Spring Grove has acquired funeral operations across Greater Cincinnati in the past several years and now has eight locations across the city, including Spring Grove Funeral Homes in Spring Grove, Hyde Park, Tri-County, Sharonville, Reading, and Oak Hill Cemetery in Glendale. The original Spring Grove cemetery was established as a nonprofit in 1845 and named a National Historic Landmark in 2007.
