Foundation Partners, a private company out of Florida, is now the owner of the local family owned Oregon funeral chain Musgrove Mortuaries and Cemeteries
Musgrove Mortuaries and Cemeteries’ origin story dates all the way back to 1883 when Eugene and Lane county got their first mortuary. After multiple owners the facility became solely under musgroves ownership in 1973. After 47 years of sole ownership, which developed the original company into eight funeral homes, four cemeteries and three crematories the family has decided to sell.
Former owner Mark Musgrove became familiar with Foundation Partners through his work with the National Association of Funeral Directors. Stating that “We chose Foundation Partners because we knew that they were people that cared about employees and the families they served.”
The Musgroves name and staff will remain with the idea that the corporate ownership will allow the local chain to not only continue to expand, but offer more robust opportunities for advancement and benefits to employees.
Musgroves is known in the community for honoring long standing traditions and customs while also creating new meaningful contemporary celebrations of life. These unique offerings will continue and so will the family, just as with many family owned properties under new ownership.
